A different way of learning
Founded in 1965, the School Saci Pererê (name chosen by one of the first students) offered, exclusively, the early childhood education program. Over time, the school grew and started classes from 1st to 4th grades of elementary school. Later, in 1994, the school expanded and started offering classes from 6th to 9th grades. By then, the school got a new name: Diretriz. In 2003, the school Saci Pererê/Diretriz entered a new phase becoming the first bilingual school in Juiz de Fora.
In order to integrate students, add knowledge and experiences and optimize resources, Saci and Pangea * Schools joined together in 2008. This union was beneficial for both sides as both schools had leading-edge methodologies and related teaching philosophy - Individualized, humanized, democratic and valuing the family in school. With this integration, since 2009 - now as Saci International School - the school offers from Early Childhood Education to the final years of elementary school, ten classes following the Montessori System and the Bilingual Program .
Today, called Saci International School, the school establishes itself as a reference in the practice of its forefront teaching methods, as the Project Methodology used at school since 1996 and the Montessori System, since 2008, after the union of Saci and Pangea. With the objective of offering a nontraditional pedagogical approach, the mission of Saci Internacional School is: “Develop in a different way the teaching and learning process for the excellence on the academic and human aspects.”
Eight years after the union of Saci School and Pangea School, Projects and the Montessori System are increasingly being strengthened as pedagogical practices that complement each other. With this purpose, the school offers continuous studies and improvement.
Pangea International School was founded in 2003, as a social Project that helped 30 children from low-income families. It was not possible to continue the project in 2008 crisis. To keep up with these children’s studies, Pangea School had joined the same space as Saci School.
The initial Picture from the website is the cover of the book: “Saci: a different way of learning”, published in 2015 in order to celebrate Saci’s 50th anniversary. The book is for sale at the school’s front desk and it describes a half century teaching journey, showing a different pedagogical method.
